We have had over 3,000 scores submitted so far and things are getting really competetive on the Speed modes. Sp!ke is currently the man to beat on Speed6 with a ridiculous time of 2.1 seconds. If you have any bugs to report or suggestions to make please get in touch through the Contact page or the talk section of our Wiibrew.org page. There was a major incident involving a cup of tea and the laptop containing the only copy of the Smashing! source code. After being crushed, completely demoralised and more than a little saddened by that event we began development on another game. That, however, eventually suffered a different, yet just as catastrophic, fate. But after a good few enquiries as to the whereabouts of Smashing! 2.0 landed in the Warpfish inbox we felt compelled to pick through the rubble and give it another go. You will be able to download the game from this site by Thursday (15/10/09). Public Ranking http://www.warpfish.co.uk/#news_10 Fri, 28 Nov 2008 00:00:00 -0800 warpfish_news_10 info@warpfish.co.uk (John T) TehSkeen's Wii Coding Competition's Public Ranking has come to a close. Thank you to everyone that voted in our favour there's been some very positive and encouraging comments, so encouraging we're going ahead with 2.0 even if we don't win :) We were planning to release 2.0 at the end of this month but half of the warpfish team have been very ill as of late and so were a bit behind. We won't be giving a definite release date until we're happy with it, but the wait shouldn't be too long. watch this space. Smashing! v2.0 In Production http://www.warpfish.co.uk/#news_9 Fri, 21 Nov 2008 00:00:00 -0800 warpfish_news_9 info@warpfish.co.uk (John T) Since we released Smashing! v1.1 a few days ago we've been hard at work on Smashing! v2.0. We've been listening to the feedback from people that have played the game so far and we're doing our best to include as many ideas and suggestions as possible. John F is just putting the finishing touches to a reworked hit detection system that is a lot more accurate than the previous method and gives us much more flexibility in terms of camera movement and target positioning. There are a couple of new levels in the works, some new modes, at least another 2 music tracks and something quite special that will hopefully make the single player modes a lot more playable. The update will also feature a few other minor bug fixes and GUI tweaks as well as making the reload action more sensitive. We're hoping to have Smashing! 2.0 released around the end of the month but will probably post some images of the new levels before then. Stay tuned. Smashing! v1.1 Released http://www.warpfish.co.uk/#news_8 Tue, 18 Nov 2008 00:00:00 -0800 warpfish_news_8 info@warpfish.co.uk (John T) In response to the reports of overscan and NTSC issues weve made a couple of changes to the menus and in-game displays so everything should display correctly across all PAL and NTSC formats now. Download Smashing v1.1 here. You can download it here. This release includes the Garden and Street levels. It includes single and multiplayer modes (vs and co-op) for both levels. We didn't feel the room level was up to a high enough standard yet and so will be included in the next release. We wouldn't go as far as to say that Smashing! is a party game but we do recommend playing Smashing! with a friend as it's a lot more enjoyable that way. Smashing! has been tested on 4:3 and widescreen PAL televisions but not on NTSC yet so there may or may not be issues with that. If you do notice any problems with this release please email us at info@warpfish.co.uk Coming Soon http://www.warpfish.co.uk/#news_6 Thu, 06 Nov 2008 00:00:00 -0800 warpfish_news_6 info@warpfish.co.uk (John T) With just a week and two days to go till theTehSkeen's Wii Coding Competition deadline we thought it was time to reveal a few more images. The third level has also been started. Menu systems and transitions are nearing completion and audio for the game is well under way. Haven't we been busy! Which means getting the poly count down to a respectable "not a lot". Once that achieved it's all easy as! Trying to get material to be bleached white when hit by a specific light and not its diffuse colour is harder than you would think! Managed to get there in the end though, just remember it's all in the material not the light! One month to go... http://www.warpfish.co.uk/#news_3 Wed, 15 Oct 2008 00:00:00 -0700 warpfish_news_3 info@warpfish.co.uk (John T) Today was spent working on the lighting of the study scene using very low ambient light to create atmosphere. The final lighting effects will be mapped onto the final model when all the static objects have been finalised, textured and placed in the scene. I was also able to use a piece of smashing original art work by Spike Holmes of a creepy old geezer that will feature in the finished game. For more of Spikes work see anti-clone. warpfish.co.uk http://www.warpfish.co.uk/#news_1 Tue, 14 Oct 2008 00:00:00 -0700 warpfish_news_1 info@warpfish.co.uk (John T) Welcome to warpfish.co.uk the virtual ho pad of indie game developers warpfish.
